Mass Media Award: Institut Français Ankara and Goethe Institut Ankara

The World Mass Media Research Foundation decided to present the Mass Media Award 2015 to two key institutions for their significant contributions to the art and culture life:
Institut Français Ankara is entitled for the Mass Media Award, for vitalizing art and culture life of Ankara starting from the 70’s, for bringing different art diciplines such as exhibitions, concerts, conferences and plays to the artlovers in Ankara by cooperating with numerous cultural institutions, and specifically for its support for the art of cinema by bringing French artists and films to all of the festivals in Ankara.
Goethe Institut Ankara is entitled for the Mass Media Award, for supplying venues for all of the festivals in Ankara and enriching the programmes with the films it contributed starting from the 80’s, for anticipating the growth of nearly a full generation of Turkish experimental cinema and video artists with the workshops it organized with names including Werner Nekes, Angela Melitopoulos and Volker Schreiner in early 90’s, for vitalizing Ankara’s culture life with innumerable exhibitions, concerts and screenings and for its innovative contributions tothe formation of the virtual exhibition and archive space of Turkish Media Art with its “Art Up” project.
