Genç Çingene Aslanlar, izleyiciyi Pio’nun hayatında bir geceye götürüyor. Pio Güney İtalya’da yaşayan genç bir çocuktur. İtalyan yönetmenin bu filmden önceki amacı çingenelerin hayatlarını inceleyip, onlarla konuşmaktır. Ancak onların içine girdikten sonra koşullar yönetmeni bu konuda bir film yapıp, en gerçekçi yönleriyle izleyiciye sunmaya itmiştir. Pio ile birlikte çingene aileleriyle ve hayatlarıyla ilgili gerçekçi ve içten bir şekilde bu işlenmiştir.

Young Lions of Gypsy, takes us through a night in the life of Pio, a young Romani boy living in southern Italy. The Italian director’s goal prior to the film was to observe the gypsies life and to talk with them. But after his encounter with them he decides to make a film about them and present them in a realistic way to the viewer. Together with Pio, the realities of gypsy families and their lives were brought to the silver screen.
